The Little Mermaid

As part of the school production I was asked to write and practice a play that would last 15 minutes and be performed in front of the students' parents, family and friends.

So I went about writing an adoptation of The Little Mermaid, with considerable help from Kate. I practiced it in class and after many hours of sweat and determination from the students they were ready to entertain us. The night finally arrived and the nerves kicked in for me and the students. Satisfyingly the play was a complete success and people were all full of complements for the play and costumes. Here are some pictures from that night in March.

The two narrators, Joy and Linda. Linda's folder is empty because she knew all the words and didn't want the script! sweet.

Susan, Allan and Eric. Susan played Ariel and the boys did a wonderful job as her sisters!

Susan with her bin-bag tail!

Richard the wonderful seagull, Scuttle, with fairy wings!

Samantha looking fantastic as Flounder.

The evil witch Ursula played by Claire, who wanted to wear white and be pretty.

Monica and Luice as the advisor and handsome Prince Eric.

Looking on, checking prounciation and grammar!!

Emily was the cutest crab!

King Triton telling Ursula where to go.
