Yamaha Fuzzy

Today I bought my Fuzzy Yamaha scooter. Second hand, seems to be in good condition, costing 18,000 dollars (295 pounds). It's a 125cc (4 stroke), 1994 model with slogan; "Of The Wind Called".

In fact most scooters have these little 'Chinglish' slogans. On the Yamaha Duke is; "Set me free - Let me alone"
Another I saw recently was; "We Reach for the Sky, Neither Does Civilization"

Super-Typhoon

This is a link to a weather picture showing the path of typoon Aere that hit Taiwan (winds in Taipei reached 75mph, with gust of 95mph) and the Super-Typoon that has changed direction and is heading north towards Japan.

Typhoon in town

A tyhpoon has just hit northern Taiwan, so Taipei is in the centre. Landslides were being shown on the news this morning. We get all the rain, about 2 inches is predicted today.

Me is well lazy

It's been a while. Someone told me to update, so I'm using an email! I'm lazy.

Teaching is going well. Last month I averaged 30 hours of teaching a week. You all scoff! It's hard work teaching those hours, I think thats about 50 hours of work.

Last week for two weeks I had a chest infection and flu like symptoms. Making it almost impossible to teach. I think I caught it from the kids, maybe SARS! :(

I've been camping in the mountains, central Taiwan called "Dandalio pingshou shee gong nong nongchung", in Natou. An amazingly scenic place, the aboriginal family who live there have their own mountain and as a side project turned it into a small camp site.

I now have my own apartment, which I'm doing up slowly. It's three floors (2 bedrooms, lounge and bathroom) and costs 137 pounds a month, including cable. It's not big, but will sufice.

Nothing much else has happened recently. If it does, will tell. (This is a boring blog!)
