I lived and taught English for two years in Taiwan. I travelled China and the rest of Asia, including South Africa. Now I live in Bristol.
A tyhpoon has just hit northern Taiwan, so Taipei is in the centre. Landslides were being shown on the news this morning. We get all the rain, about 2 inches is predicted today.

It worries me that 2 inches of water can cause so much damage!
No wellies, just cheap plastic raincoats that make you sweat.
You'd think that they would be used to this type of weather, but it caused a lot of disruption. Our school closed in the afternoon but most places were shut all day as the county was closed. I guess it's similar to snow in the UK.
